Features

  • TraComp technology uses tubular carbon spokes, which stretch less than other materials, because they’re structurally stiffer AND resist in compression, without any risk of unloaded spokes
  • TraComp technology gives you a ride that’s lightweight, amazingly responsive and incredibly comfortable
  • Maxtal rims are ISM lightened and SUP welded to eliminate vibration for a more balanced ride
  • 22mm front wheel provides lightweight stability in crosswinds and rapid descents
  • 25mm asymmetric rear wheel increases rigidity, flex and power transfer
  • Fore drilled spoke holes improve stiffness and rigidity for greater fatigue resistance
  • Strong and lightweight FTS-L integrated, freewheel mechanism offers direct power transmission and allows energy to flow freely to the entire wheel
  • UB Control coating offers improved braking friction and eliminates shuddering
  • 16 front (radial) carbon and 20 rear (radial non-drive; 2x driveside) Zicral + carbon TraComp bladed spokes

Sizing Chart

Road Wheels
Gear Type- Identify if you have a Freewheel or Cassette.
Number of Cogs-
Select a hub for the number of rear cogs you have 7, 8, 9, or 10. Most 9 speed hubs are 8 and 10 speed compatible.
Rear Axle Spacing-
Measure the rear spacing on your frame. Most mountain bikes are 135mm but there are still some older 130mm bikes around. In some cases it will be 132.5mm which can take either 130mm, or 135mm spaced hubs.
Valve Type-
  • Presta (top)
  • Schrader (bottom)
Diameter- Wheels must have the same rim diameter that your frame and fork were designed for. In some cases 27" wheels can be replaced with 700c wheels, but the brake pads will have to be adjusted down to meet the smaller diameter rim. 650c and 700c wheels are not interchangable. 650c and mountain bike 26" wheels are not interchangable.
Desired Tire Width- Minimum width is limited by the width of the rim, a tire that is too small increases the risk of rim damage when striking an obstical, or the tire not seating properly and being prone to flats.

Maximum tire size is limited by the amount of clearance for the tire within the frame, and the the width of the rim, a very wide tire mounted to a narrow rim will not be very stable and may cause unpredictable handling as the tire rolls over in turns.

A good guideline for maximum and minimum tire size is shown below.

Thanks to cutting edge technology from Mavic, the entire bicycle wheel market is about to change. Not only will the R-SYS transform all your power into pure speed and give you instant acceleration, it offers an exceptionally light and stiff ride thanks to its innovative TraComp Concept.
